What We Do
Birds
We are boutique breeders of Pacific Parrotlets and small soft billed song birds. We hand raise our babies so they are tame and pet quality. For those interested in breeding, we also sell select pairs.
Aviaries/Cages
Who says our pet birds have to be housed in unattractive cages? We custom design Aviaries that resemble a piece of art. Or dress up your old ordinary cage with one of our custom clip ons.
Aquatic Design
Into the Deep.. Bring a bit of nature into your home or office with our Natural Aquascapes. Our low tech tanks and vases are designed to grow as nature intended.
Natural Habitat Designer
Birds in captivity thrive in their natural habitat. Humans benefit from the calming of nature as well so benefit from surrounding yourself with natural settings for you and your pets.

Definitely The Best Aquarium Ever
I was looking to bring a bit of nature into my home/office. I saw one of Laura’s aquascapes and thought it would be perfect to keep on my desk so I could look at it all day. I was concerned that I would not be able to keep it but the habitat came cycled and turns out to be a so well balanced that it almost cleans itself and is beautiful to look at since it’s planted and has small interesting little creatures to watch.

A little Bit About Us
Laura Powell
Laura the owner of Out on a Limb Exotics is an experienced Aviculturist, practicing for over 20 years. She also holds a degree in Landscape Architecture, and in Web, Graphics and Interior Design. With all of her combined knowledge of birds, plants graphics, and custom furniture design, she is able to create exciting natural animal environments.
Ted Powell
Ted Powell, a Licensed California Architect, is husband and partner to Laura. He is skilled in computer rendering software, enabling him to create intricate metal art furniture designs. His background in biology, combined with the fact that he grew up on a farm in Canada, adds the knowledge of both experience and science, benefitting their breeding business.
